People are gifts. When I first saw this phrase, I didn't know what it meant, but when I read the poem, I was moved. I realized that everyone has something special about them and whether they want to share it with others or not is their choice like giving a gift. But when someone wants to share something with you, and you accept it without disagreeing with it, it is like receiving a gift. Some gifts are given at birth, but some are lost. The ones given at birth, may be nicely wrapped or hastily wrapped, but that doesn¡¦t matter because looks never meant anything, it was just your heart, and your mark in the world. Sort of like when you touch an old toy, you remember all the fun times you had playing with it. To me, everyone that I have or will meeting my life will have some special gift to give when I give him or her mine. Some may not give me a gift right away, but I will receive and remember the ones that they do. Right now, my friends and family are very special gifts. My mother and father gave me life, and it¡¦s teachings, while my sister gave me happiness. This is because when I¡¦m with her I¡¦m usually happy. My friends are special gifts because they are the people I can tell my deepest secrets to, no matter where they are. They also make me smile, laugh, or just have fun when I am upset, or worried. It is like they can take my problems way like the wind. Teachers also are special gifts, because every year they teach you something that you will remember them for, and thank them for a great gift of knowledge. Year by year you graduate from one grade to another, and every year you can remember and recite the teachers you had in every year telling about how they taught you. In order to remember all that, they must have done something great, or just make a mark in your life; like a timeline showing everything important which you remembered in your life. - Carmen Liu :D ¡@ |
